Building
Gender-Responsive
Value Chains

3 March | 9:30 a.m. (New York)

How can companies move beyond compliance to drive real gender impact in their supply chains?

Join us on 3 March at 9:30 a.m. (New York) for Beyond Compliance: Collective Supplier Engagement to Build Gender-Responsive Value Chains, part of the 2026 Countdown to International Women’s Day learning journey.

Procurement is one of the most powerful levers companies have to advance gender equality and business resilience, yet many supplier programmes remain limited to compliance requirements. This session explores how companies can shift toward meaningful supplier engagement rooted in capacity-building, partnership and shared value creation.

Developed in collaboration with SheTrades, the session moves beyond the “why” to focus on the “how.” Experts and practitioners will share practical strategies to engage suppliers effectively, build the internal business case for gender-responsive procurement, and scale impact across complex global value chains.

Participants will leave with actionable approaches, practical tools to overcome common barriers, and peer insights on how collective action can strengthen supplier relationships, improve performance and advance women’s economic empowerment.

Live interpretation will be provided in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Italian and Turkish.
