Closing the Gender Pay Gap through Collective Action

26 February | 9:30 a.m. (New York)

Why does the gender pay gap persist—and what will it take to close it for good?

Join us on 26 February at 9:30 a.m. (New York) for Mind the Gap: Advancing Equal Pay for Equal Value Through Collective Business Action, part of the 2026 Countdown to International Women’s Day learning journey.

Despite decades of commitments, gender pay gaps remain widespread across sectors, regions and value chains. As regulations tighten and expectations for transparency increase, companies must move beyond compliance and address the structural and systemic barriers that continue to undermine equal pay for work of equal value.

This session brings together business leaders, policymakers, international organizations and civil society to explore what is holding progress back, what is driving meaningful change, and how collective business action can accelerate results. Grounded in the Forward Faster ambition, experts will share practical guidance on conducting pay equity assessments, strengthening transparency and accountability, and communicating progress with credibility.

Participants will gain practical insights and peer examples showing how advancing equal pay for work of equal value not only upholds human rights, but also strengthens talent retention, builds trust and supports long-term business performance.

Live interpretation will be provided in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Italian and Turkish.
